A citizen is a person who lives in a certain country. They are loyal to the country they live in. But is this all it takes to be a citizen? The answer is no. There are people living legally in the Ghana who are not citizens.

If you were born in this country you are a Ghana citizen. If your parents are Ghana citizens, but you were born in another country, you are also a Ghana citizen. Citizens enjoy many freedoms and rights. Citizens may vote in elections. They can even run for political office. They also have many duties such as paying taxes and defending their country.
